The three European Union funded British Council programmes - ACT, MCN and RoLAC - have supported stakeholders to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic through a series of interventions.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Managing Conflict in Nigeria (MCN) Programme has supported stakeholders to:

  • Strengthen the traditional justice system 
  • Respond to sexual and gender-based violence
  • Support community policing initiatives
  • Support civil society initiatives on preventing the spread of COVID-19.

The Agents for Citizen-driven Transformation (ACT) Programme has supported stakeholders to:

  • Strengthen the capacity of CSOs to deliver effective advocacy campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Support CSO advocacy groups with small scale grants and technical assistance to implement advocacy campaigns on COVID-19.

The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme has supported stakeholders to:

  • Respond to sexual and gender-based violence
  • Support the criminal justice system to respond to COVID-19
  • Promote inclusive responses to COVID-19
  • Support the improvement of regulation and legislation on pandemics.
